Milano, 6 february 2025 –Diagram and Crédit Agricole Italia Sign Partnership Agreement to Provide the Bank with Agritech Data Platform
The agritech hub platform now provides Crédit Agricole Italia with valuable insights into the agricultural sector, including crop, economic, and environmental performance indicators.
The goal of the agreement is to supply data that enhances the understanding of Italy’s main crops and their productivity, which are increasingly threatened by the effects of climate change. Diagram’s digital support offers Crédit Agricole Italia critical qualification parameters, including crop, economic, and environmental aspects of agricultural enterprises. The platform’s dashboard presents processed data, displaying sustainability indices, soil organic carbon levels, soil erosion risk, agricultural performance, agronomic productivity, Gross Value of Production (GVP), and even weather risk indicators.
As Roberto Mancini, CEO of Diagram, explains, “By using advanced satellite technologies and proximity sensors, we can now precisely determine soil composition and the impact of agricultural practices on it.” The data processing and analysis allow “for assessing whether an agricultural enterprise is vulnerable to climate change-related weather risks and if production is facing difficulties.” Mancini adds, “Moreover, we can calculate crucial environmental parameters, such as organic carbon storage and soil erosion, which are essential for defining the sustainability profile of an agricultural business. Today, these territorial measurements are vital for banks as they enhance their understanding of their clients. By integrating these functions with measurable ESG objectives, we can achieve significant results in sustainable growth.”
This partnership will monitor approximately 30,000 professional agricultural enterprises. Maurizio Crepaldi, Head of Agri & Agri-Agro Affairs at Crédit Agricole Italia, states, “The collaboration with Diagram will allow us to access their advanced data platform to further enhance our ability to assess agricultural businesses. This information is vital for continuing to support the sector’s productivity and helping it face the challenges of sustainable transition. The agreement represents another step in the excellence of the service we have historically provided to the Agri sector and towards promoting increasingly sustainable and innovative agricultural practices.”
